Personal & Ministry Effectiveness Assessment-2007-08-27VIEW
The first act of an effective plan for the future is to reflect not only your past performance, but your calling, values and dreams.  This assessment tool is holistic, integrating personal and ministry reflection activities with a view to helping you translate them into goals.

Healthy Pastor Profile-2007-08-27VIEW
A profile of 9 key areas for the development of character and competence in the life of any ministry worker.  Included are ways in which these qualities are demonstrated and ideas for how to strengthen your life in these areas.  No profile can ever be exhaustive or fully exclusive.  These represent our thinking to date on the prominent areas for demonstrating character & competence in ministry.

Development Plan Templates-2007-09-04

Each template contains many of the same features.  They all include both a planning side and a performance review portion consistently aligned with your goals. Adapt them to fit your style and approach.  Essential elements include:

  • Goals – ensure these are specific.  They should be “SMART”.  Your goal(s) may not be ‘perfect’ or ‘adequate’…most goals aren’t, especially in the ministry world; but just having them will get you moving toward an intended target.

  • Action Plans – the small steps to be taken that will lead you to accomplish the goal

  • Outcomes – project the potential results of the goal before you ever act.  This is a heart and hope filled statement:  “What will this look/feel like when the goal is accomplished?”

  • Performance Measure – undoubtedly the hardest part of this exercise.  This is how you or others hold you accountable for your goals.  What will indicate you achieved the goal?  Numbers; change of behavior; a new program; new people…?

Strategic Peer Networks (SPN's)-2007-01-24
SPN's are a community of peers who are committed to regularly meet for the purpose of building their character and competency for ministry. These networks are a key context for providing mutual care and also the accountability needed to be healthy and effective pastors able to lead churches into transformational growth. SPN's are self-selecting and peer lead, but District Coaches are able to assist in helping pastors find a meaningful network. For information on starting an SPN, contact Harvey Matchullis, Leadership & Church Planting Coach, harveym@cmawdo.org

Leaders can identify their personal giftedness and orientation to leadership through completing an online questionnaire. This tool can be used in a group setting to identify and educate leadership teams in working together through understanding each member's leadership style and strengths. A personal or team debrief of results is provided by a District Coach upon request. For more information contact Connie Neumiller, cneumiller@cmawdo.org
